Their behaviors could be strange, disrespectful, hurtful, and sometimes out of this world. Communication is key when it comes to dealing with teenagers and their baggages. Although majority of them don’t listen to word of advice at this stage. Living with working, educating, and motivating teenagers lies on how you can effectively use words to penetrate their mentality. A well packaged, positive and well season communication skill may get you through any difficult young person you are faced with. Don’t communicate to or with them in harsh tone always. It won’t help the situation.
Stay calm sometimes
When a teenager mishaved or displays their normal attitudes, you have to overlook some of it. It not everytime you react to their nonsense. Because when you do that they get used to it and they will keep on doing that same thing because they already know how you will react at the end of the day. Your immediate and harsh response to every situation may led to greater regrets.
Do not lose your stand and Voice
Most teenagers will do nerve racking things to test your tolerance capacity. They will push you to your limit. Don’t allow them have power over you. Take your stand as the supervisor in the situation. This attitudes of theirs can be done in different ways, including, disobeying, not listening, talking back, throwing tantrums, rule breaking, and much more. Take a serious stand and show them who is the boss, do not over react just do something that will affect them majorly. The less reactive you are to provocations, the more you can use your better judgment to handle the situation.
Make a laid down rules
Most teenagers number one goal is to have freedom and experience independence without intrusion from anyone. They want adventures without having full understanding of life. Because at this stage they have a lot of insecurities. In these situations, it’s very essential to set rules and boundaries in order to maintain a great relationship and peace with them. Just remember teenagers problems and silly behaviourial stage is necessary but you have to be wise and stronger to deal with them. Remember you were once like them.
