Meaning of Menstruation
Menstruation is a natural biological process whereby monthly discharge of blood flows from the uterus’ inner lining through the vagina, of a non pregnant woman from puberty to menopause. Some women see period as monthly inconvenience. Due the discomfort and pain it brings most time. Many females do not have adequate awareness and basic necessities they need to know and to manage their period. Period is connected with health, environment, education, human dignity and procreation. It is not something anybody should make fun of. But what every male should be supportive of this in order for women to have a smooth menstruation hygiene and stay healthy.
Menstruation is not a curse, disease or inconvenience. It just that some of us experience pain during the process. It is what every girl must experience and go through it to become a woman.
Some ethic groups, see menstruation as a stigma or taboo. They sometimes restrict a woman on her period to do certain things, like cooking. It is absurd and we should change our mentality.

Factor that Causes Painful Menstruation
One them is the kinds of food we consume. Intake of food with large quantities of saccharine may result in pains during our menstrual cycle and not having proper menstruation hygiene.

- First of all know when your next period is coming and prepare for it. Get a calendar mark the days till last period and the next.
- Do not use tissue paper as pad. It is very dangerous, it could block your Fallopian tubes, cause infection and other bigger problems .
- During menstruation, women lost a large amount of blood. In order to replenish ourselves back, we have to take blood tonic and multivitamins. Take a good amount of fruits. Talk to your doctor for advice.
Menstruation Hygiene and Management
There are variety of sanitary products out there. We have the regular sanitary pad, tampons, pad, and washable sanitary towel.
When using a tampon please always remember to take it out on time. Do not forget it. It may absorb excess blood and loose inside of you, thereby causing some complication.
Menstruation flows varies, some have light flow, heavy or moderate. If you have a heavy bleeding make sure you change your pad two four hours and wash up. Do not wait for it fill up, overflow and stain you.
Washable sanitary towel are in Vogue and the are more convenient to use. Its last up to ten years. You can wear them and wash as much as you like. Its come with detergent. Always dry it out in the sun.
Knowing how to dispose your sanitary pads is essential and important part of menstruation hygiene. Do not publicly dispose them. It an eyesore for a lady to scatter her sanitary towel in the open. If do not want to burn them you could properly put them somewhere hidden. Sanitary pad are good source of fertilization. You could give them out to farmers to uses as their manure.
Take proper care of yourself. Always change your sanitary towel two to five hours, wash up before wearing a new one.
Most importantly, talk to people around you if you are in need or experiencing difficulty. Do not hid your pain from your male champion because period is not just a woman thing, But a global issue.
